We work with UK grown organically pulses, including marrowfat peas, yellow peas, and heritage varieties of the incredible carlin pea. As we all endeavour to move towards a more plant-based diet it is vital that we do so in a sustainable way, making sure our produce is coming local organic sources, why eat imported chickpeas from south America when you can eat an amazing pulse grown across the water? (and hopefully in Ireland at some stage) Each week we will offer a different variety of sprouted pulse.
They are perfect to use in soups, stews or cooked just as they are to serve chilled in salads, the cooking time is greatly reduced due to the sprouting process, only taking 10-12 minutes, the flavour difference is incredible!
Sprouting reduces phytic acid (which is an anti-nutrient present in all whole grains, pulses, nuts and seeds) while also unlocking flavour.
