Dandelion salve has amazing moisturizing properties!
I harvest dandelion flowers in my garden in Lislevane, making sure I leave enough for the bees and other pollinating insects that need it as a source of food. I let the flowers to dry for some weeks in a basket, and then steep them in a jar of organic olive oil in direct sunlight at a windowsill. The oil takes on a deep yellow colour reminiscent of the dandelion flower. The infused oil is then heated up with beeswax to form a dense salve full of vitamins and minerals that support skin health and fight inflammation. Before the salve sets, I add two drops of lavender essential oil for extra scent.
