There is nothing like a loaf of buttery rich brioche bread.
And this sourdough brioche bread recipe is perfect for French toast, or just to simply slather with butter and jam.

Fresh, slightly stale slices, or split buns will all work for French toast.

Soak just long enough to saturate both sides so it doesn't break apart during cooking — a quick dip for fresh bread, or about 30 seconds per side for stale pieces

Brioche is different than other breads, because it’s an enriched dough.
Enriched doughs, or rich doughs, are “rich” because of the addition of ingredients like milk, eggs, and butter.

Ok so we have established that this bread is rich. Soft. Fluffy. It has a flaky exterior and this buttery fluffy interior.
It’s airy and light. Basically it’s like a bread pillow.

Sourdough brioche bread will actually last longer than storebought bread at room temperature because of the long fermentation process.
The bread will be at it’s best for 3 days, but I found it lasted just fine for up 4 to 5 days as long as I wrapped it well in material wrap.
Shelf Life: 5 Days
