Quinoa is gluten-free naturally and has a high concentration of protein and is a good source of many nutrients including zinc, magnesium, folate & iron.
Tiny, bead-shaped seeds (although more similarly treated like grains) with a little tail that unfurls when cooked. It has a slightly nutty flavour and firm texture.

Unlike wheat or rice, quinoa is a complete protein – containing all eight of the essential amino acids. It has been recognised by the United Nations as a supercrop for its health benefits: packed with dietary fibre, phosphorus, magnesium and iron.
In the UK the quinoa crop is grown on a far higher plant density to cope with weed competition. The varieties of quinoa that grow in the UK, don’t contain the saponin coating, meaning there’s no need to remove the bran from grains. This quinoa retains the highly nutritious outer layer making it one of the most nutritious in the world with a much deeper and richer flavour.
