Flax, also known as linseed, comes from the flax plant, which is cultivated for its seeds, fibre and flax oil.

Brown flax seeds contain essential fatty acids, including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Flaxseeds are a phytoestrogen, these are plant-based compounds that mimic estrogen in the body.
Recently, phytoestrogens have received increasing amounts of traction as a natural intervention to support female health during menopause.
These dietary sources are widely understood to raise levels of oestrogen throughout the menopausal transition, thereby mitigating bothersome symptoms, like hot flushes, fatigue, and mood changes. The most common sources of phytoestrogens are soy and flaxseeds. Flaxseeds contain potent phytoestrogens called lignans and scientists’ believe that lignans are responsible for improving menopausal symptoms.

How does it work?

1. Choose your product. Most products are sold in multiples of 100g or less. So for example, if you would like 500g of rice, choose 100g x 5 etc.

2. In keeping with our zero waste ethos, your product will be packaged in a glass jar where possible. This jar is post consumer and has been cleaned and sterilised for reuse.
Please decant the product into your own container as soon as you can. Then return the jar to your Neighbour Food drop off point where it will be collected for further use.

Thank you!
