The Parting Glass - Don David Malbec

Don David is a label produced by Bodega El Esteco, this wine pays homage to the winery’s founder, Don David Michel, whose name it takes, and was apparently inspired by his distinction and elegance. After 12 months in oak the wine is rich on the nose, there are distinct plum aromas enhanced by cherry notes, hints of herb and subtle chocolate courtesy of time spent resting in oak. On the plate there is plenty to savour, mouth-filling plum and spicy black fruit. This combines beautifully with notes of jammy cassis, hints of vanilla and a long round smooth finish, all helped along by hints of oak and vanilla.
