We are proud to introduce this beautiful Coffee from our sourcing trip to Brazil, A lot of amazing coffees were cupped and tested on this trip but the Sitio Gourita really stood out to us with its bold Chocolate Ganache sweetness & Orange Acidity.
Edison began his story in coffee culture at an early age when he started working for a large farm in Nova Resende, South of Minas. His father Jose Ferreira Cardoso had already tried twice to start coffee production on the family’s property but with no success. The crops of 1979 and 1981 were taken by the frost and Jose decided to keep only dairy cattle as his primary activity. After Edison became interested in coffee farming in 1986 he convinced his father to give coffee a second chance. Nowadays Edison and his wife Kerli are the ones managing Sitio Gourita, Kerli is the one responsible for the post-harvest. The couple has shared their knowledge with their children, Edison Junior and Maria Eduarda who already follow their parents work in aiming to keep the passion for coffee culture alive
