Maize is originally from America. Sweet corn is a young consumption corn, of which the sugar in the grains has not yet been converted into starch. Fresh cobs can be kept in the refrigerator for several days. Before cooking, remove the bracts and threads. Do not overcook the corn. The longer it is cooked, the tougher the grains. Boiling for five minutes and letting it sit in the water for another ten minutes works better than boiling for 10 minutes. Do not use salt during cooking also improves the juiciness.
