Popcorn kernels
Serve sweetened or salted as a snack.
How to make popcorn: Heat oil in a large based pan over high heat. Put kernels into the pan, cover and wait until they pop.
Occasionally shake the pan and continue to cook until the popping slows down, nearly to a stop.
How to make popcorn in the microwave: Put the oil and a little salt in a microwave-safe bowl. Add the popcorn kernels and stir so that the kernels get completely covered with the oil and salt mixture. Cover the bowl with the vented lid and microwave on 'High' for 3-4 min, or until popping slows to 1-2 seconds between pops.
