Not to be confused with white chocolate, cacao butter is the primary ingredient needed to make your own chocolate! Also available from Grangecon Store Cupboard are the cacao powder and maple syrup that combine with cacao butter to make delicious, melt-in-your-mouth dark chocolate. Here’s the recipe:
100g cacao butter
4 tablespoons maple syrup
75g (5-6 tbs) cacao powder
Slowly melt the cacao butter and maple syrup in a heatproof bowl over a small saucepan containing a couple of inches of water. The water shouldn’t touch the bottom of the bowl.
Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and whisk in the cacao powder.
Pour into any suitable, flexible container you have - silicone shapes, ice trays or paper cupcake holders can all work. A handy tip is to have these already placed on a baking tray before filling them.
Pop the tray into the fridge, or freezer, until they’ve set (at least an hour).
