The Little Irish Apple Company
We are apple growers along the banks of the river Suir at Clonmore House Piltown Co Kilkenny since 1990 with our yard ,cold stores , grader and pack house and living quarters at Kilmanaghin Owning Piltown Co Kilkenny. At Owning we have our trial orchards of plumbs , pears, and selection of over 30 varieties of apple ,our sweet pea , newly Seed saver asparagus 150 meter patch grown from seed, as well as our ever increasing social garden project that is in its infancy.
The apple orchards in Clonmore are about 50 acres and pollination is essential and so Philip runs a minimum of 50 colonies of bees for this purpose . As a result we have the most delicious honey available for sale. We also sell bees to anybody interested in starting this very rewarding hobby, as we keep getting asked to do so.
If you know us from Middelton Market you know we do our own Apple Juice , in season Elderflower Cordial, selection of Daffodil , Tulip , Peonies Rose and assortment of bulbs from my friend and neighbour Adam and Cider vinegar and other Katy juice from Longways, another friend and neighbour.
