O’Briens Butchers is Celebrating 15 years of business this July. William O’Brien first opened the independent butcher shop in Main Street Carrigtwohill in 2005. William has over 40 years experience working as a master butcher in the meat industry where he has gained a passion for the art of butchery and consistently delivers excellent, fresh, high quality products to our customers.
Our meat is sourced, slaughtered and prepared in East Cork meaning our Food Miles are very low, resulting in a lower carbon footprint and reduced animal stress resulting in a higher quality product. Sourcing our meat locally is very important to us because our meat is fully traceable meaning we can tell you exactly where it came from, when it was slaughtered and by whom.
Our Lamb and Beef sourced from our butcher’s brother, John O’Brien, from his farm in Cloyne. The animals are fed barley that is grown on the farm and they are also grass-fed, where they can freely roam across 100 acres of land. Our chicken and pork products are supplied by Cormac O’Connor & Sons.
Along side our butcher shop we have a modern kitchen where we make our own homemade lasagnes, cottage pies, ready to eat dinners, sandwiches, apple tarts and other baked goods from scratch! We also cater for gatherings and special occasions with our party food, cold salad plates, sandwiches and much more! Menu available on request.
We are currently in the process of receiving a Hygiene Assured certification which verifies the sanitation of our business and recognises our commitment to the highest hygiene standards.
