Leahy Farmhouse Foods
Leahy Farmhouse Foods was setup in 2019 by the Leahy family. Our family farm was predominately beef and sheep. With unstable prices in beef and sheep farming, Jim and Breda could not see a future for their son Seamus and daughter Norma on the farm. From this Bally Goat Farm was born.
We currently have a soft goats cheese available in 3 flavours, namely, Original, Garlic & Thyme and Honey & Chilli. These 3 cheeses are available in 140gram tubs. This cheese is made using a recipe from Northern Italy.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic our business had to change direction. In November 2020 Bally Goats Milk was born. Bally Goats Milk is pasteurised, non-homogenised.
Our Original cheese received Bronze at Blas na hEireann 2019 and our Garlic & Thyme received silver at the Irish Cheese Awards 2019.
The family farm is in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick. The highest of welfare standards are operated on the farm, this ensures a top quality product reaches our customers.
Our production facility is in The Kerry Food Hub, Firies, Co. Kerry.
