We are a small family run business producing award winning Irish farmhouse cheese in the hills above Durrus village in West Cork. Durrus Cheese use the top quality cows' milk of two local farmers to create semi soft rind washed cheeses as well as hard raw milk aged cheeses.
Our founder Jeffa Gill is one of the first pioneering farmhouse cheese makers in Ireland. She started her business as part of a desire to achieve self sufficiency on her small holding in West Cork in 1979. Today working alongside her daughter Sarah, they employ a small team of cheesemakers in their hillside dairy and remain committed to producing products of the highest integrity and quality.
