Sling Shot Distilled Irish Gin is winner of 10 international tasting awards including Gold at The World Gin Masters and comes from the first legal distillery in 175 years in Co Longford.
It’s all distilled on site using a copper pot still in a very distinctive way, with 4 separate high-quality distillates including one from local peat, one with fresh Irish Mint, one with fresh & organic Citrus fruits and 1 with classic Gin botanicals juniper, coriander, angelica, lemon balm, cardamom, orris root and celery seed .
Lough Ree Distillery are the first in the world to distil peat as a botanical- this is an innovative process and makes a gin with outstanding depth and complexity which is the very essence of terroir.
Tasting Note:
The citrus and mint give beautifully fresh top notes, the juniper and cardamom in particular add spice and boldness while the peat finishes it off with an earthiness and rounded mouthfeel, balanced with a hint of freshness from the mint.
Suggested Serve: Classic Tonic with Mint + Lime or Pink Grapefruit and Rosemary; Fever Tree Classic with Slice of Orange. Great in Southside, Martinez or Negroni cocktails.
