The Birds and the Teas

Unit 4, Kilcoole Ind Pk, Kilcoole, Co Wicklow, A63K201

The Birds & the Teas provide a range of handmade, slowcooked, Chutneys, Relishes and Preserves for retail and catering. These are made from the finest quality of ingredients, locally sourced where possible. All our products are made in the traditional manner in large preserving pans, to enhance their taste and uniqueness.
Coming from a farming background taught us to use fresh, seasonal ingredients and as Olive’s Mother would say, it’s very simple - “If you put the good stuff in, you get the good stuff out!”.
A number of our customers describe our products as ‘Memories in a Jar’, evoking memories of their Grandmothers kitchens’ with a modern twist.
The difference in our products is primarily the taste. Hand prepared, slowcooked and made from locally sourced Irish fresh fruit and vegetables, whenever possible. Our products are entirely free from preservatives, and most products are gluten free.
Our products are delicious by themselves, or can be used to make everyday meals that little bit more special, like when we advise using the tomato and chilli to roast a chicken. We feel our products are unique, because in the early stages they were developed from weekly customer feedback at our farmer’s market tastings. Some have been changed as many as 17 times. We believe we have it right now!

Our customers range from parents wanting to use preservative free, good local produce when cooking for their children, to individuals who appreciate the genuine flavours and quirky combinations. We have a wide range of customers who all value the genuine taste they get from our products. A number of people send our products abroad to family and friends – a genuine taste of Ireland from the Garden County!

We were the 2019 winners of the Irish Farmers Market Championships and are delighted to be part of the Wicklow Naturally brand.
